Columbus Zoo

This was a 30 minute Interactive Videoconference with the Columbus Zoo.

This was also a fun session! They gave us an overview of all the different videoconferences they conduct with students. There was a variety of animal ones but there was also one “I Want to Work at the Zoo!” In this one they do the careers that involve working with animals, but they also do other careers at the zoo – like marketing.

They are able to adjust their programs for a variety of grade levels and are willing to work with teachers to make the content fit with the curriculum and standards.

One activity they had us do was to use our observation skills. They gave us an envelope full of pictures of gorillas. We had to decide which pictures were of the same gorillas. So they also try to include interactive activities for the students.

The sessions are 40 minutes long and $100 each.
